“THE FOREST BECOMES HER” PRE-PUBLICAtion EVENT
In celebration of Julie Carrick Dalton’s forthcoming novel The Forest Becomes Her, Galerie d’Orsay hosted a pre-publication event in partnership with St. Martin’s Press, bringing together literature, art, and community.
Set against the backdrop of luminous works by Bruno Zupan and Natasha Zupan, the evening unfolded with a quiet kind of magic. Their paintings, rich with color, movement, and emotion, offered a visual counterpart to Dalton’s storytelling, echoing the natural themes that define her latest novel. Guests received a first look at the latest collection and Dalton’s novel, meandering through the gallery with glasses in hand, pausing between conversations to take in the art, the setting, and the sense of anticipation surrounding the book’s upcoming release.
The event was graciously hosted by bestselling author Hank Phillippi Ryan. In conversation, Dalton offered a glimpse into the inspiration behind The Forest Becomes Her, a novel that promises to explore resilience, identity, and the profound pull of the natural world. Her reflections resonated deeply within the gallery space, where art and narrative seemed to mirror one another in their exploration of transformation and place.
There was an unmistakable synergy in the room, a shared appreciation for creativity in its many forms. The evening was a gathering of minds attuned to storytelling, whether through paint or prose. It underscored something we often see at the gallery: that art, in all its mediums, has the power to connect, to transport, and to linger.
The gallery was honored to play a role in this special event. We encourage you to pre-order The Forest Becomes Her set for release on July 14, 2026, and preview Zupan & Zupan online or in person today.
