The festivities began with an opening reception at Wheaton College’s Madeleine Clark Wallace Library, where Susan was recognized for transforming the dynamic space with her captivating paintings. Galerie d'Orsay co-directors, Kristine Feeks Hammond and Martha S. Folsom, were delighted to attend and celebrate such a stunning display of Coley's work with fellow art enthusiasts. The lively evening concluded with a celebratory dinner at the Wheaton College President’s home.

Following this, Galerie d'Orsay was thrilled to host over 50 guests, including many Wheaton alumni, for a special event celebrating Susan's ongoing exhibition at Wheaton. It was a joyous gathering honoring a fellow alumna and her remarkable talent, with guests also enjoying an exhibition of her work from the gallery's collection.

Throughout her education and career, Galerie d'Orsay artist Susan Coley has transitioned from psychology to experimental research and finally to art, studying at Rome's Academy of Fine Arts and Boston's Museum School. Her abstract paintings are infused with intuition and feature layered figural forms, geometries, and personal calligraphic languages that invite viewers into a realm of subconscious exploration.

Experience Susan Coley's evocative "Memory of the Earth" firsthand. This exhibition, in partnership with the Wallace Library, is open to the public during library hours. Visit the Wallace Library website for details, and visit Galerie d'Orsay to see her artwork in Boston.
