Galerie d’Orsay is pleased to present Shaping Earth & Sky, a new exhibition featuring atmospheric landscape paintings by Kathy Buist alongside textured bronze sculptures by Gustavo Torres. The exhibition brings together two artists whose distinct practices are united by a profound connection to the natural world, material, and the enduring relationship between the earthly and the ethereal.
Together, Buist and Torres offer two distinct interpretations of humanity’s relationship with the natural world. Buist looks outward—to changing skies, water, light, and the vastness of the landscape—while Torres turns inward, exploring the human form as a vessel for memory, spirituality, and connection. Shaping Earth & Sky brings these perspectives into conversation, creating an exhibition grounded in the elemental forces that shape both the world around us and our experience within it.
