Bio

A vivid colorist and dedicated arts educator, Ahern combines memory, nature, and layered paint to evoke fleeting impressions—what she calls “lembrança.” A graduate of Boston University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, she studied with Helen Frankenthaler, earned grants like the Massachusetts Artist Foundation and Kinnicutt Travel Grant, and has been a U.S. State Department visiting artist in countries such as Portugal and Angola. Her acrylics and prints, often inspired by coastal landscapes and infused with light shifts, are held in corporate and private collections and have featured in exhibitions at venues like DeCordova Museum School and the Worcester Art Museum.
